Frequently asked questions

Olympic Games

ATPI Sports Events began their partnership with the Canadian Olympic Committee in 2016. Not only will we be transporting the Canadian Olympic Team to the Games, but we also have many years of experience in ticket sales and creating travel experiences to the Olympic Games. As Official Ticketing, Travel & Hospitality Partner of the Canadian Olympic Committee, ATPI Sports Events offers tickets and custom-made packages to PyeongChang 2018 for both business and private consumers. For more information, see our website.

The Winter Olympics will be held in Pyeongchang, Korea. Please see the Pyeongchang information page for information on the area.

The Winter Olympics will take place from February 9th to the 25th, 2018.

The travel time between the Mountain and Coastal Cluster is approximately 30 minutes. However additional time should be considered for public transport as well as congestion when leaving the venues. We recommend planning at least 2 hours of travel time when going between the Clusters.

As the Official Ticketing, Travel and Hospitality Partner of the Canadian Olympic Committee, ATPI Sports Events is the official and exclusive channel for purchasing Olympic tickets in Canada. ATPI Sports Events is the only organization entitled to secure tickets directly from the PyeongChang Organizing Committee for the 2018 Olympic Winter Games (POCOG) for sale in the Canadian market. In addition to tickets, we also offer services such as accommodation and flight booking, and all-inclusive trips to the Games in PyeongChang. For more information, please refer to our website.

The Olympic Games schedule is available here.

Entrance tickets

ATPI Sports Events has no control over seating allocations within a venue. Actual seat locations will not be assigned by the Olympic Organizing Committee (POCOG) until after venue seating configurations have been finalized. The responsibility lies with the Olympic Organizing Committee (POCOG). For more information, please visit the PyeongChang 2018 website.

ATPI Sports Events may require you to show your passport for verification during the ticket collection process. You may also be asked to show your passport within the venues in PyeongChang and Gangneung.

There is no limit to the total number of admission tickets that you can buy. However, a limit of 6 tickets per session (if available) may be purchased.

As of February 23rd 2017, tickets to the PyeongChang 2018 Olympic Winter Games will be available for purchase via the ATPI Sports Events website.

ATPI is the Authorized Ticket Reseller of the Canadian Olympic Committee and therefore will be the exclusive provider for all tickets sales in Canada.

Any Canadian or resident of Canada can purchase their tickets from ATPI Sports Events.

ATPI Sports Events offers individuals the option of purchasing single event tickets. In addition, you may book a package with ATPI Sports Events including flight and hotel. For more information, please visit our website.

ATPI Sports Events in collaboration with the Canadian Olympic Committee is actively working towards securing additional tickets. Any updates regarding ticket availability will be shared on our website and via our newsletter.

While we do our best to satisfy seating arrangements, we unfortunately do not have control over the exact seating breakdowns within a venue. The seating organization is determined by the Olympic Organizing Committee (POCOG). While we cannot guarantee seat allocations, we will do our best to keep your group together.

Any visitor over the age of 2 requires a ticket in order to gain entry to a venue. Children under the age of 2 do not require a ticket as long as they sit on the lap of their guardian.

The tickets for sale on this website are for standard seats. All stadiums in PyeongChang and Gangneung are wheelchair accessible. If you are interested in an accessible seat, please contact us by email: olympicgames@atpi.ca. A companion seat must be requested at the same time as an accessible seat.

ATPI Sports Events will provide information on our website, newsletter, Facebook about any remaining tickets available for purchase after the start of the Olympic Winter Games PyeongChang 2018.

The entrance tickets will be sent by courier / registered mail. We expect to receive the tickets from the Olympic Organizing Committee (POCOG) in late 2017. Once the exact date is known, everyone who purchased tickets will be notified by e-mail when the tickets will be sent. The shipping costs per order amount to CAD 55 in Canada. These costs cover for:

1. Trackable and secure shipment of tickets.
2. Signature required upon delivery.
3. Tickets shipped in a sealed ATPI Sports Events Olympic Ticket wallet.

The qualification period for participation in the Olympic Winter Games PyeongChang 2018 for most sports is not complete at the time that the tickets go on sale. As a result, unfortunately it is still impossible to predict which sessions will include Canadian athletes in action. Please check www.olympic.ca for more information.

At present the Olympic Organizing Committee (POCOG) has not confirmed if they will provide free transportation on the train, subway or other forms of public transport with an event ticket. Once this has been clarified we will communicate the applicable information through our website or newsletter.

Please refer to the Terms & Conditions of the Olympic Organizing Committee (POCOG).

Our ticket prices have been set based on the exchange rate from the Korean Won (KRW) to Canadian Dollar (CAD). Those prices are then approved by both the Olympic Organizing Committee (POCOG) and the International Olympic Committee (IOC). We (along with all other Authorized Ticket Reseller agents) calculate an administrative and brokerage fee of 20% on tickets up to a value of CAD 574.50. Tickets with a value in excess of CAD 574.50 are subject to a surcharge of up to CAD 114.90 per ticket.

Ordering process

If multiple people want to buy the last tickets of a particular session, it is possible that in the ordering process someone else purchased the last tickets before you.

You can contact ATPI Sports Events Olympic Department by sending an email to olympicgames@atpi.ca.

Entrance tickets can only be ordered through the internet. Due to administrative reasons entrance tickets cannot be requested by phone or by mail at ATPI Sports Events.

While attending the Olympic Games is a fantastic experience, it can also be very tiring because of the travel to and from the various venues (stadiums). When ordering tickets, please take into consideration to visit no more than two sessions per day at different locations.

In case the customer will stay a long time in PyeongChang / Gangneung, ATPI Sports Events advises when compiling program to consider a ‘rest’ period. Keep in mind the time an evening session ends and another session begins the next morning. Also consider the travel time between the Olympic zones, if you want to attend multiple sessions per day.

For sessions that are not available, ATPI Sports Events either has not received tickets from the Olympic Organizing Committee (POCOG) for the Canadian market or they are currently sold out. ATPI Sports Events is doing its utmost to serve everyone as best as possible. ATPI Sports Events depends on the allocation from the Olympic Organizing Committee (POCOG). For many popular sport sessions (such as the opening and closing ceremonies, short track speed skating, ice hockey) there is a chance that the demand may exceed the number of available tickets on the Canadian market. The availability of tickets is determined by the Olympic Organizing Committee (POCOG). It uses a fixed formula for the distribution of tickets. About 70% of the available tickets are sold in the Asian market. The remaining 30% is divided between IOC sponsors, press, international federations and all 206 countries that are members of the IOC.

The moment you’ve placed an order, we regard this as a definite booking. You cannot change your and / or cancel your request. In case you want to cancel the purchased entrance tickets, 100% of cancellation will apply on all canceled entrance tickets, including administration and handling fees.

After ordering, you will receive an email confirming your order. This is also your receipt and invoice.

In order to confirm a booking, payment must be completed through the website. Payment can be made using VISA (the Olympic Games Preferred Partner) or by another type of credit card. A 2.5% service charge will be added to the total amount charged to the credit card.

First ensure your billing and credit card  addresses match. Next, contact your financial institution directly. Your transaction may be declined by the card issuing bank. The bank will be able to provide you with the exact reason your payment was not authorized. Finally, if the error is not resolved, please contact us at olympicgames@atpi.ca or +1 (514) 316-7012.
