When and where will the Olympic Games take place in 2020?

How can I book a trip to the Olympic Games Tokyo 2020?

As the Official Ticketing, Travel & Hospitality Partner of the Canadian Olympic Committee, ATPI Sports Events is the exclusive Canadian Authorised Ticket Reseller for the Olympic Games Tokyo 2020. In addition to Olympic event tickets, we also offer accommodation, flights, transfers and excursions to the Olympic Games Tokyo 2020. These travel products can be purchased either as part of a package, or sold separately. You can purchase your Packages or Travel products online here. Please note that these packages are not part of a group experience.


How do I know if Canadian athletes are participating?

You will find here an overview of the qualified Canadian athletes for the Olympic Games Tokyo 2020. ATPI Sports Events cannot guarantee that the information are completely up-to-date at any time.


Is the Olympic village open to the public during Games-time?

No, the Olympic village during Games-time is only accessible to athletes and their staff. In this way, they can prepare in peace to deliver the best performances.


OLYMPIC EVENT TICKETS & PACKAGES

When does the sales of event tickets and travel packages start in Canada?

Sales for travel packages and event tickets (stand-alone) will start on June 26th, 2019 at 11am (EST).


How will your Travel Packages look like?

We offer 3 levels of Travel packages including accommodation, event tickets, airport transfers, excursions, meet and greet services, expert pre-trip travel planning, food and beverage and 1-day access to the Canada Olympic House. Pre-selected competition tickets for 8 disciplines are included to each package.


Where and when can I buy my Olympic event tickets to the Olympic Games Tokyo 2020?

The official release date is entirely dependent on the Tokyo Organising Committee of the Olympic Games and ATPI Sports Events is following the Tokyo 2020 timeline regarding Olympic event tickets. Tickets will be available on June 26th, 2019 at 11am (EST) and once available, you will be able to buy your Olympic event tickets online directly on www.atpi.ca. We do not reserve Tickets in advance for our customers and this will be a first come, first served transnational platform with Tickets subject to availability.


Who can purchase event tickets from ATPI Sports Events?

Any Canadian residents can purchase their tickets from ATPI Sports Events. When making your purchase, you must enter an address in Canada to which we can deliver your tickets. We do not ship tickets outside of Canada.


Am I able to purchase a ticket for a single event only, or is it necessary to purchase a package?

ATPI Sports Events offers to individuals the option to purchase single Olympic event tickets. In addition, we offer the possibility to book a package including airport transfers, accommodation and excursions. For more information, please visit our Travel & Package section. While there is no limit on the number of Olympic event tickets you can purchase from us, the maximum number of tickets you can purchase per session is six (6).


I want to attend a specifc session that is not in your online inventory, can you reserve these tickets for me?

No, unfortunately this is not possible. Once the Ticket Sales are open, the event tickets are immediately available and can be booked online on a first come, first serve basis (subject to availability).


Can I only book the accommodation with you?

No, accommodation is only offered through our Travel Packages. Several option of hotels from 3 stars to 5 stars can be selected as part of our packages. Please note that a minimum of 6 nights is required.


 

Does ATPI charge a fee on packages?

Yes, ATPI does charge a fee that covers the administrative costs of planning your trip (investigation, lobbying, selection negotiation) and the cost of ATPI staff being present in key locations during Games time to respond to customer needs, and manage any on-site issues which may arise. As a customer of ATPI, you can enjoy your Olympic experience in the knowledge that we will take care of your flight, Olympic event tickets and hotel arrangements. Our assistance is available from the moment you begin planning, right up until the end of your trip.


Will more Olympic event tickets become available closer to the Olympic Games Tokyo 2020?

ATPI Sports Events is in constant discussion with the Tokyo Organising Committee to try to secure additional tickets, according to Canadian demand. Any updates regarding ticket availability will be shared on Facebook and via our newsletter but we also invite you to check back our online inventory regularly.


If I have purchased several Olympic tickets for one event, will we all be sitting together in the venue?

While we do our best provide seat tickets purchased together in the same area, we unfortunately do not have control over the exact seating breakdown within a venue. The seating allocation is determined by the Tokyo Olympic Organising Committee (TOCOG).


How and when I receive my tickets to the Olympic Games Tokyo 2020?

Olympic event tickets will be sent by a courier service in Canada only. We expect to receive the tickets from the Olympic Organising Committee (TOCOG) approximately 1.5 months prior to Games-time. Once we have further information about the date when we can expect to distribute the Olympic event tickets, customers will be notified by e-mail. The shipping costs per order is CAD $55. This is to cover the administrative cost of a trackable and secure shipment of Olympic event tickets.


How and when I receive my travel documents for the Olympic Games Tokyo 2020?

Personalized itinerary and pre-travel information package will be provided by email at least 2 weeks prior to your departure.


I have purchased Olympic event tickets in multiple orders. Can I combine the orders so I only pay one shipment fee? (

It is not possible to combine separate orders, due to our administrative and distribution requirements and controls. The shipment fee is charged per order placed.


What are the differences between the categories of tickets?

The competition tickets are divided into different categories. Depending of the sessions, tickets are offered from category A to D (subject to availability) of which category A are the places with the best view of the field and category D high-altitude stands.


I will be travelling with children to the Olympics. Will they also need Olympic event tickets?

Any visitor over the age of 2 requires a ticket in order to gain entry to a venue. Children under the age of 2 do not require a ticket as long as they sit on the lap of their guardian.


Does my ticket also provide free access to public transit?

The Organizing Committee of the Olympic Games Tokyo 2020 has planned a convenient transportation system for spectators who will be visiting Tokyo during the Olympic Games. Transportation system in Japan is built very convenient for all the travelers to move around the cities and between the different venues. Please check here to help you reach your destination.


What is your cancellation policy regarding Olympic event tickets and travel packages?

After our final confirmation, travel packages and Olympic Games Tokyo 2020 event tickets are 100% non-refundable.


 

ORDERING PROCESS

How many Olympic event tickets can I buy in each transaction?

There is no limit to the total number of Olympic event tickets that you can buy. However, there is a limit of 6 Olympic event tickets per session (if available).


Why can I not find Olympic event tickets for the session I am looking for?

Olympic event tickets are available on a first come, first served basis. The session may already be sold out.


Can I change my Olympic event tickets and/or cancel if I have already paid? (

The moment you have placed an order and procedeed to the payment, it is considered a confirmed booking. You cannot change and/or cancel your request. In case you want to cancel the purchased Olympic event tickets, a 100% cancellation fee will apply.


Why do I get an error when finalizing the checkout process?

After you click on "Buy" to finalize the checkout process, if you get an error ("Please add a product to the cart"), it means that someone has completed the purchase of the same item before you and thus, this item is no longer available. You will need to continue shopping and select another available item.


How do I know if my order and payment of Olympic event tickets and/or packages has been successful?

After ordering, you will receive an email confirming your order along with your invoice. Once the order will be paid, you will receive a payment confirmation along with the necessary information to prepare your trip to Tokyo.


I have placed one or several item(s) in my e-commerce shopping cart, are these items reserved or secured?

Once you have placed your item(s) in your e-commerce shopping cart, they will not be secured until you complete the payment. If another customer purchase the same item before you proceed to check-out and payment, it will be removed from your shopping cart.


TRAVEL

How long is the flight time to Tokyo?

Air Canada offers direct flights from Montreal and Vancouver to Tokyo Narita International Airport from Toronto to Haneda International Airport. The flight time on a direct flight from Montreal and Toronto is approximately 16 hours and from Vancouver is 8h45. Other carriers also fly to this location and If you have already purchased a package through ATPI and you require assistance to book your flights, please contact our travel agents at olympicgames@atpi.ca in order to book your flights to Japan.


Do I require a visa to travel to the Olympic Games in Japan?

Canadian passport holders do not require a tourist visa for stays up to a maximum of 90 days. Japanese officials will photograph and fingerprint all visitors upon arrivals. If you are travelling with a passport other than a Canadian passport or will be going to another country after the Games, please check the CIBT Visa assistance here to ensure you have the proper visa documentation.


Are there special rates if we fly as group to the Olympic Games Tokyo 2020?

Can ATPI book my flight to the Olympic Games Tokyo 2020?

ATPI Sports Events can book your flights according to your requirements (preferred airline, departure airport, flight connection, transfer etc.). Flights are not included in our guaranteed departure Olympic packages but our Travel Agents can help you book your flights to Tokyo. Please contact olympicgames@atpi.ca for more information.


Do I need a Travel Insurance to travel to Japan?

Travel insurance is not included in your packages. ATPI recommends the purchase of a travel insurance, at your own costs. Emergency Medical travel insurance from Manulife insurance provides coverage for unforeseen medical emergencies that can occur when travelling. They also offer Trip Cancellation insurance which protects against financial losses if a prepaid trip needs to be cancelled before you leave due to a covered reason. Where are ATPI's hotels located?

ATPI has already secured the best hotels within the Olympic zones close to competition venues. Does ATPI provide a transfer from Tokyo Narita and Haneda international airports to my Hotel?

All our Olympic packages include round trip airport transfers from your arrival airport to your hotel.


How can I get from my hotel to the competition venues

ATPI does not provide transport between your hotel and the competition venues. The Tokyo Organising Committee for the Olympic Games (TOCOG), as well as the local governments of the Tokyo region are working to provide transport services for spectators.
